Ive not had time to post anything new for a while as Ive been busy shooting. Quite a lot around the UK, then a week in Honolulu, back to London and finally New York. Ive flown around New York quite a lot over the years, and its always great fun. Below are a few aerial photographs from the most recent shoot in Manhattan.

Aerial views of offshore wind farms.

I was up shooting wind farms a few weeks ago. They are so amazing to fly around I thought Id post some of the images / footage. We shot from right down around 300ft of the deck up to 8500ft where it was incredibly cold on the day. We used an AS355 helicopter which is what I often fly in and had to wear dry suits in case everything went wrong and we ended up swimming home.

Ive taken a couple of trips to Libya in the last two months shooting Tripoli and also got the chance to fly around the ancient Roman cities of Leptis Magna and Sabratha which look amazing.

Did my first flight of 2013 over London on the 4th Jan. We were shooting an ad for M&C Saatchi for the ” View from the Shard ” which is opening up in the next few days. As usual for my London flying I shot from an AS355. We had to get in pretty close to the building for the image to work.

I shot the work on a Nikon D800. I then sat at my Mac for a day comping the shot together. The final image is produced from separate 8 stills.

Below is first two panoramas I produced and also a copy of one of the final ads that will run.

Coming to the end of October and we’ve had pretty dire weather for aerial shoots in London. Ive been waiting to go flying for two weeks. In the end I was up on Fri and Saturday in horrible winds, although you’d never realise it from the images. It was bitterly cold up there even whilst wearing four layers. Looking forward to the Spring already!

Aerial photography over Budapest, Légi fotózás Budapest felett.

Iv’e been lucky enough to be shooting aerial views over quite a few places this month.

Last week I was in Lisbon, came back to London to do a talk for Travel Photography of the Year and then shot for a few days in Budapest and am currently waiting for some clear conditions in Prague.

I last flew in Budapest about three years ago in a Gazelle helicopter, but this time managed to get hold of an AS350 with a sliding door, which is a pretty ideal option.

Below are a few of my favourite shots from Budapest. If you ever get to visit I recommend a visit to the spas, they are amazing.

Malta from the air

Im currently shooting various places around Europe. Today I’m in Lisbon having just finished up shooting five days over the island of Malta. Vey lucky to find I think the only helicopter on the island and a really great ex military pilot to fly me around.

Its a really lovely island and flying over the ” Grand Harbour ” in particular was a great experience. Below are a few images, click on the thumbnails to view the slideshow.
